A visit to Bali is not complete without the food. And to experience the food you must visit eat street in Oberoi Seminyak. If you are staying at one of the luxury villas at Oberoi or the Legian Seminyak you must eat at the “Reflections” restaurant it’s within walking distance of the main center. Locals and tourists like Trattoria, Rumours, and Ultimo in Seminyak all year round.
While you are salivating over the menu at Trattoria, Rumours, Ultimo and many other restaurants you can begin with a free welcome drink. Menu favourites, for tourists, are the Belgian beers, fine wines and mouth watering Beef Tenderloin wrapped in bacon.
You can also savour the Thai cuisines that are available the neighborhood. One famous restaurant is “Thai Express.” Other local foods are a delicious basil based Kai Kapraw made with chicken. Or you can sample a spicy sweet and sour soup called Tom Yum Goong that is made from shrimp. Of course you do not want to miss the best salad in south East Asia, the seafood bunch. Meals are modestly priced, but you won’t care. Each delicious bite is worth every penny spent.
DROPS is yet another legendary food spot in Legian. It has a water and glass entryway with a live pond. You will find the restaurant at Casa Padma. It is a great place to eat a hot steak and watch the tourists passing by or enjoy the scenery. Of course you could also take a short walk to JP’s Warungclub on Dhyana Pura Street. There you will find a fantastic ambiance and a very customer centric staff. Rumors and Ultimo are the place to go for good imported wines, seafood and fantastic music. Ultimo’s recommended dish is Nasi Goreng (fried rice) as well as Italian specialties.
There are Passargard and Menu restaurants in Dhyana Pura Seminyak which cannot be missed. A friendly Australian couple offer mouth watering Western Cuisine at Menu. Iranians run Passargard located next to Menu. They have a delicious version of Spaghetti Seafood which could become your favorite meal.
A trip to eat street would not be complete without a stop at Il Cielo.
It is located next to the hotel Vira Bali in Kartika Kuta. Even after you have had your fill you may not want to leave, the place is just that cozy. Il Cielo is known for their famous pizza margarita and Hatten Rose.
Succumb to the urge, visit Eat Street and treat your taste buds to nirvana.
